Newborn Triplets Photoshoot The Mudie Mob

newborn triplets photoshoot

Their combined weight was 9lb 14ozs. Just 3ozs heavier than the birthweight of a newborn, baby girl, that I photographed last week.

It’s quite incredible to me that 3 babies can weigh the same as a full term “good sized” newborn.

I’m talking about 3 adorable little boys. Archie, Myles and Oliver. Known on Instagram as TheMudieMob.

I was thrilled to be given the chance to photograph them. Most newborn photographers can only dream of photographing triplets.

On the morning of the shoot I was up really early. Too excited to sleep. Excited, and mildly terrified, at the thought of photographing 3 new babies. I had taken advice from a few other newborn photographers, experienced with triplets. They all said, I’d need an extra pair of hands… for each baby!! That would mean there would be six people in the studio. I wanted a calm atmosphere and I decided that Lois and Craig ( the triplets mum and dad ) and myself would be perfectly capable and there was no need for a team of 6 baby-handlers.

I love really natural photos and wanted to capture the wonderful, craziness of 3 tiny, newborn baby boys.

The session was due to start at 10am. I had made sure that no other babies were booked in that day. I fully expected two, bedraggled, sleep deprived parents, to appear at least 2 hours late. In fact I half expected a phone call to say “there is no way we can even leave the house.  We’ve been up for 172 hours with no sleep, and the thought of putting 3 babies, in 3 car seats’ and coming to a photoshoot, is just all too much.”

The morning went a bit like this.

10 minutes late, (which counts as fashionably late), Lois and Craig, arrived. They floated in, looking like two super-models. Lois looked stunning in a crisp white dress. Perfectly ironed, her Mum. Seconds later, there were 3 identical car seats lined up across my  studio floor. It was quite a sight. The babies were not identical. Each one, slightly different from his brothers. Adorable, cute, exquisite, perfect....There’s not enough adjectives to describe these amazing little bubbas.

I knew instantly that I wanted to show how the boys are each tiny individuals AND the bond they have with each other AND how much they are loved by their incredible Mummy and Daddy.

The session went really well and I can’t wait to have them back in the studio.

All babies are a gift but these 3 really are extra special.

Introducing Archie, Myles and Oliver, 3 very special little boys.

P.S. I had to add a label to each photo, so as I knew which baby I was editing.
