Maternity Photographer in Dundee
Every appointment during your pregnancy is medical. This one isn't. A maternity session at Mabel & Møøse is a treat. A couple of hours where everything is calm, unhurried and completely about you. No blood pressure checks, no Ninewells waiting rooms. Just beautiful, natural photographs of you at one of the most extraordinary times of your life. One day your child will look at these photographs and say — that's me, inside mum's bump. I think that's worth capturing properly.
You will feel beautiful
I know that the thought of being photographed when you are pregnant can feel daunting. You might be worried about how you'll look or feel awkward in front of a camera. I completely understand that. Sometimes I thank my lucky stars that there were no mobile phones when I was pregnant — although I do wish I had just one professional photograph.
What I can tell you is that I know exactly how to pose you so that you look and feel effortlessly beautiful. I have been photographing women for over 26 years and I know every flattering angle. You won't be standing stiffly against a wall. Everything will feel natural and relaxed. I spent so many years making brides and bridesmaids look and feel incredible and those same skills are exactly what I use to make you look your best and feel completely at ease.
I provide everything you need to wear. My studio has a lovely selection of comfortable, flattering outfits chosen specifically for maternity sessions — soft robes, flowing dresses, simple wraps, white shirts and that cool black dress that you see on this page, so there is something to suit every style. You don't need to buy or prepare a thing, other than underwear. Just bring yourself.
A lovely bonus
Many of my maternity clients come back for their newborn session a few weeks later. I love to recreate a favourite maternity image once your baby has arrived — mum with her bump, and then mum holding her newborn. Two portraits that belong together and will mean more and more as the years go by.
It also means that by the time your baby arrives you already know me, you know my studio and you know exactly how relaxed a session here feels. Your newborn session will be even more enjoyable for it.
When To Book
Maternity sessions are best between 28 and 35 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round and you are still feeling comfortable. Book earlier in your pregnancy to secure your preferred date.
Sessions are £200 and include one 10"x7" beautifully mounted print and your Reveal Session. Additional prints and framed wall art can be chosen afterwards.
Your partner and one young sibling are very welcome to join you.
