About Ally Stuart-Ross | Mabel & Møøse
I’m Ally, the photographer behind Mabel & Møøse — a calm, natural newborn and baby photography studio based in Monifieth, just outside Dundee. I create simple, timeless portraits for families who want beautiful photographs without fuss or trends.
I’m a mum to four grown-up children and a very proud gran to five wonderful grandchildren. I know just how quickly the early years pass. That’s why I believe in photographing babies simply — without heavy props or distractions — so the focus always stays on your child.
Why I Created Mabel & Møøse
Mabel & Møøse grew from a desire to offer something different. When my daughter was pregnant, I searched for newborn photography that felt simple, calm and beautifully understated — and I couldn’t find it locally. Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, I wanted to create a studio focused on soft tones, natural textures and timeless portraits that let babies simply be themselves.
What Is Mabel & Møøse?
Mabel & Møøse is a small, purpose-built studio for parents who love simple, minimalist photography. It’s a calm, comfortable space where every detail is considered — from soft white textures to gentle, natural styling. Here, you can relax and watch your baby’s first portraits being created in an unhurried, peaceful environment.
A Thoughtful Wardrobe Collection
You don’t need to search for outfits or bring anything with you. The studio has a carefully chosen collection of simple, neutral clothing for babies and young siblings (up to four years). I select soft, organic pieces that complement the calm, minimalist style of Mabel & Møøse, so everything feels cohesive and effortless.
The studio also has a small collection of flattering white dresses for mums, so you can feel comfortable and confident without worrying about what to wear.

Mabel & Møøse is built on thoughtful choices — from working with small independent suppliers to choosing products created by businesses that support and champion women. Every piece in the studio is selected intentionally, reflecting a slower, more considered way of working.

The Name Behind Mabel & Møøse
The studio is named after a much-loved rocking moose who lives here — a quiet reminder that childhood should feel gentle, playful and full of wonder.
